The Big ONE!

I am finding it so hard to believe it has been a year since this amazing little girl came into this world! And it is amazing how someone can change so much in a year.  I will not lie those first few months were tough for me, it is kind of a thankless job, feeding, feeding, sleeping a little and feeding some more. But as soon as we hit the 4 month mark something changed either we finally figured her our or she figured her self out (or both).  It has been nothing but not stop fun since then!

I enjoy ever single day with her even if she does get me up at 515.  I love waiting to hear her in the morning say "Da" then wait a little bit and hit the top of the crib like, 'Hey get in here!'.  I love how she helps put her clothes on.  I love how she sometimes helps pick out her clothes. I love how when you ask her if she is hungry she nods "Yes!" I love how she now gets excited when I walk through the door at daycare, (she used to barely even notice when I came). I love how she LOVES to eat! She can go from totally cranky to perfectly content with a simple snack! Needless to say I am an incredibly lucky mom to be able to be with this little girl every day!

The picture was taken at daycare on Halloween, she was the only kid awake at the time and got the halloween treat! PS I love the idea of putting the kids in an oversized t-shirt to feed them cupcakes! Genius!

On two legs

I am a little behind in my posting, but Ella is walking! And has been for about 3-4 weeks, yes thats right my daughter is a "go-getter"! We have transitioned to almost all table food, she still has issues with "slimey"  foods like peaches but the other night I thought hey why not try frozen blueberries! And she loved them! The slimey-ness was gone and I just cut the fresh but frozen blueberries in half for her and voila all gone! We are currently on our second cold of the season which worries me that this might be a long winter of sickness, but I am trying not to let it get me too down.

While fall is actually one of my least favorite seasons (because of what comes after) this fall we are looking forward to:
my husband being home more with the cooler temperatures
the first time ella gets to jump in a pile of leaves
playing outside more (its been so hot this summer we had to spent a lot of time indoors)
decorating with pumpkins
ella turning ONE!!!!
and dressing up for halloween!

9 months

Here is our little almost 19 pounder! She has decided its super fum to climb stairs, stand, take a few steps, dance, eat, make  airplane/ car noises.  We have had a wonderful summer so far, as you can tell by the lack of posting!  Her favorite foods are: avacado, banana, carrots, puffs, well actually in all honesty the only food she sort of diliskes is green bean.

She's on the move!!

Ella outside with mom on a beautiful May day!

She did it tonight! She started to crawl! Not to shabby for a little girl with Hand foot and mouth disease!

Yumm!

In an effort to save some money and make some tasty food for ella, I have decided to make my own baby food. Who knew it could be so easy! Above is 1 bag of carrots, peeled chopped and ready to boil.
Cooked and ready to process. I added some of the cooking water to the carrots to make them smoother.

 Yummy!

This silicon baby food tray was a gift but you can use ice cube trays.  One bag of carrots made 15 1oz servings.

Ella loving the carrots momma made!  She loves squash and cereal, however green beans she was NOT a fan of. The faces she made were hilarious!

YAHOO!

They are gone!! The wicked ear infections are gone!!!  If you would have asked me monday if she was better I would have said definitely not, but tuesday night she slept through the night.  And yesterday we went to get her ears checked and VIOLA gone!  I was coming to the realization that we were probably going to have to see the Ear nose and throat doctor and most likely get tubes.  This past week she was on Azithromicin and I tried Colloidal silver drops in her ear and whether it was one or a combination of the both but something worked.

So my happy, curious, giggly, smiley, energetic little girl is back to being healthy, which makes me one very happy mom!

Just can't shake it!

Sorry don't know why its sideways again, it was from my phone.

Well this little girl still has her double ear infection, we are on our third bottle of antibiotics and if this last one doesnt work looks like we are getting tubes. Cross your fingers please, I would really like to avoid surgery if possible.  My husband said if she is this happy with ear infections what is she going to be like when her ears don't hurt.

Just can't shake it!

Today we had Ella's 6 month check up.  Good news is she is growing and right in the 50% percentile! Bad news is the antibiotic that she is just finishing up did not clear up her ear infection.  So we are trying another one.  I know in the big grand scheme of sickness this is normal and not to bad but it still stinks! No wonder why she has been a little goofy and clingy sleeping!Ella is now 16 lbs 1 oz and 25 3/4" long!

Poor Baby part 2!

Last week pink eye was going around day care. I debated keeping her home but then I thought, well she has already been exposed to it and there is nothing I could do about that.  Over the weekend she was great! Giggled, happy, and she slept good, then sunday her nose got very stuffy and her eye got a little gunky.  By monday morning she couldnt open her eye, so we made an appointment to get her eye looked at.  And little did I know it turned out to be pink eye in both eyes and another double ear infection.  She is such a trooper though! Still just happy as a clam, and pumped about life!

*sorry i dont know why these are sideways.... the new blogger has me all confused!  the first picture is her eating cereal, she LOVES it!  And the second is over the weekend she looks at me like whats up mom?

Poor baby....

Well I am feeling a little bad about my last post.  After a 4th night in a row of not sleeping well, I brought her into the doctor. Turns out the little girl has a double ear infection!! Now I feel bad I was so frustrated with her not sleeping well when it wasn't her fault!  But I am sure this will not be the last time I feel this way.  And from here on out nights should get better again!

A little bit confused...

First off I love my smiley happy daughter.  The other day I looked at her and got tears in my eyes thinking about how much I love her.  However... my somewhat good sleeping infant has turned into an awful sleeping almost 5 month old.
It started almost a month ago when she got a cold, so I cut her some slack.  Then last week it got a little better and was only up 1-3 times during the night.  Then this weekend we got into some new territory... Saturday night, woke up at ,8,9,10,11,1,3,5,6.  And last night was some what better, 11:30, 1, 3:30, 5.  What is going on??? I feed her only once but it doesnt make any difference if I do or do not feed her.  We have sorta tried to let her "cry it out" doesnt work for this little girl she just keeps on crying.  We have limited afternoon/evening naps, doesn't make a difference there.  We have a evening routine and have had one for about 2 months.  I just am at a loss.... and very very tired!

We've got a roller!

Big night in our house last night! Ella rolled from her back to her tummy.  She learned how to do her tummy to back a couple weeks ago.  She must have been dreaming about it, because she was practicing it as she was supposed to be falling back asleep (at 4am)...  Oh well we are so proud of her!  This picture was taken on St. Pattys day!  A very happy little girl!

4 months old!

I promised I would give her stats after her doctor appointment...

Ella is:

14lbs 4 oz
24" long

Today we went to byob yoga (bring your baby) it was pretty fun! Ella was a little unsure as she always is in new places but by the end of it she thought that was pretty fun! Well the little peanut just woke up from her short little nap so off I go!

my big girl

Here is my little girl, who will be 4 months tomorrow! Its amazing how fast time goes.  It was a big day yesterday in the Bicek household.... Ella rolled over! We have (I think) finally adjusted to daycare/ time spent away from mom.  It was a rough go for a while, she was fussy whenever anyone came over or we went somewhere, but the past week has been a lot better. She has really started to create her personality.

Here are a few things Ella loves:
  • absolutley loves to smile, and it is infectious!
  • her dad, she laughs the most with him
  • her puppy blanket, she snuggles her face into it
  • to eat
  • stand up (assisted of course)
  • sophie the giraffe (the only toy she smiles at)
  • evenings in her room when we let her play in the nude
  • the carseat (what kid doesn't)
  • moms iphone (she is fascinated by it)
oh i am sure there are many more things i just can't remember them all.

Her 4 month appointment is later this week I will post when I know her "stats"

Ahh!!

This is a new favorite picture!  It was another big week for miss ella.  She slept from 9-5 twice already (its only thursday).  And on monday she reached and touched Sophie (the giraffe) !  It was a very deliberate grab, and since then she notices her hands and plays with them and really is looking and grabbing her toys! What a treat!
This weekend is another long road trip, but this time up north to visit lots of people on my moms side!  Then it will be back to reality.  It will be a shock to all of us, as we all have enjoyed "sleeping in" 730-8.

One week..

I cannot believe my time home with ella is almost done!  One week until I have to go back to work, and I am not looking forward to it, but all good things must come to an end.  And we will just have to adjust to our new "normal".   I was really nervous about bringing her to daycare and how they were going to get her to nap (which is a huge chore), but after visiting her on friday I was reassured why I chose her to help raise my daughter.  She just seems to have such a great handle on everything, and I know ella will love her!

This picture was taken a week or two ago, but i just love her big smile.  She is definitely is a morning person just like her parents, and still just loves to eat, smile, grunt, kick, and talk!!
